Experience the Devonian Lithological Database on the go! In the field, office, classroom, or even conferences! DLD for iOS® is a simplified interface to the database. Learn more about the Devonian Lithological Database.
Using Apple Maps, Google Maps, or OpenStreetMaps (depending on iOS® version and connectivity), get an overview of the distribution of Devonian rock contained in the database.
When close-in, individual localities within the database will appear as pins. Each pin represents one or more Devonian rock unit.
Tapping on a pin gives the most basic record information for the locality.
Tapping the arrow on the pin's quick data opens the detailed listing for the locality, including coordinates and what rock units are present.
When you tap on a rock unit in the locality view, you are provided with the detailed information for that rock unit, including name, age, rock types present, thickness, and original source.
Use the time-scale control to limit what data are shown. The control shows only the data that overlap the age shown in the control.
